eVoice Review 2019
Company: eVoice®
Website: www.eVoice.com
Service: Business Phone System
eVoice® is a simple, yet powerful phone system that routes calls automatically to your office, home phone, cell phone, or any number you choose. eVoice sends voice mail messages to email inboxes, transcribes voice messages, allows you to screen calls and enables you to work from anywhere.
If you want a basic Virtual PBX, without a lot of extra features like internet faxing, or call queuing then eVoice may just be the phone service provider you need.
Introduction
Many customers like the simplicity of eVoice. The simple interface is definitely one of eVoice’s stronger points. Users will find it refreshingly easy to quickly find the options they need. The menu system has everything placed right where you would expect to find it, unlike some interfaces where you have to hunt down the feature you want to use. For example, call routing is found where you would expect it to be – under call settings.
They offer 3 basic plans that cover all of the basic features a business needs in a phone service, plus a few add-ons you can include in your service package. Of course, add-ons come with additional charges.
- Toll free numbers
- Call routing – forward calls to any phone number you choose. You can route calls made to your extension to a maximum of three numbers. The numbers are routed either in the order they are listed in your Call Routing list sequentially or simultaneously, whichever you prefer.
- U.S. and Canadian local numbers – you can choose a local number from one or several cities and establish a local business presence no matter where you are physically located
- Voice mail to text – receive transcriptions of voice messages sent as an email or text message. Each plan includes 40 voice mail transcriptions per month for 1 extension. Additional transcriptions over the limit are 10¢ each. Voice to text on additional extensions is $1.95 per month, which includes 40 transcriptions.
- Multiple extensions – set up extensions for particular departments or employees
- Auto attendant – takes calls and directs the caller to the department or individual they wish to speak with. Callers are prompted to enter a number for the extension they want or the name of the person they are looking for.
- Call recording – records calls and stores the audio files for later use. The cost is an additional $5.95 per month per extension.
- Mobile apps – eVoice supports iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry mobile phones to help you access your account from anywhere
Customer Service
The company has improved their customer service and now offers around the clock U.S. based customer support. They have also added an “after hours mode” which is available through advanced call routing. Or, you can help yourself in the FAQ section or watch a help video.
Plans and Pricing
All plans come with a 30 day free trial, however, you are limited to the minutes of the plan you are trying out. For example, if you choose a free trial with the $9.95 monthly plan, you have to stay within the 300 minute limit or you will be charged overage minutes, whether you sign up for the paid plan or not. Otherwise, you will not be charged anything if you cancel within the 30 day limit. Plans are month to month, with no contracts or cancellation fees.

Call Conferencing
eVoice makes call conferences simple with advanced built-in support. The system will provide you with the information you need to provide to invitees (phone number and access code) and you distribute the information to selected recipients. You can invite up to 95 people. But, you should be aware that you are charged per minute, per participant. Minutes count as part of your plan minutes and are subject to overage charges.
Cons
Free Trial
When you sign up for a free trial, you only have the option of 855, 866, 877, or 888 toll free numbers. This won’t be a big problem for most businesses. These numbers are becoming as widely recognized as 800 numbers. But, if you really want an 800 number, you have to sign up for a paid plan right off the bat.
Lack of Features
Some businesses may find the features too basic. By not offering call queuing, internet faxing, or web calling, eVoice puts themselves at a disadvantage.
Recording Your Own Message
Recording your own greeting is a bit of a hassle. To record your own greeting, you must first record it on your computer with your own recording software, then upload your audio file to the eVoice interface. Alternatively, you can pay an additional fee for a professional recording.
Conclusion
For reliable virtual phone service, at affordable prices, eVoice is an ‘OK’ choice. It may not have as many features as some of the other providers, but they have everything most businesses need. The 30 day free trial gives you a chance to try the service before committing to a paid plan.

WARNING evoice is horrendous! They put me out of business for a full 24 hours and cost me hundreds of dollars in printing costs because of their TOTAL lack of common decency and customer service. After having their “service” for 10 days I was disconnected without notice of any kind. When I received no calls from clients I dialed my number to find it was disconnected. Hoe totally embarrassing!!! I call evoice to demand an explanation and was told “their carrier had detected possible fraud” from my number…HA I am a fully legit business I controlled the account so it is BS and probably someone else who had previously had the number. It has been a week I have received 3 written promises that a “supervisor” will call to resolve the matter…NOTHING!
This company is a joke and will not be around long.
This company is A JOKE, the poorest costumer service I’ve ever had to deal with. My calls didn’t work properly, after feeling the person wasn’t aven caring about me I asked for a Manager and he said “there is no manager” how come a company with a 24/7 costumer support does’t have a manager. My problem wasn’t solved so I said I was going to cancel my account and he just proceed with the cancelation without even caring. Very bad service and very bad costumer service. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Awful, awful, awful. Their website is an absolute pain to use to administer your account, call quality is marginal at best and their customer service is beyond terrible.
Have filed a suit against eVoice for fraud in refusing to cancel a trial account after several requests. Company is a cut and dry scam, avoid at all costs.
These people are idiots try to pay my bill the have my email, could not remember my old phone number so they said I did not pass the security, just wanted to pay my bill. There tons of other companies.
Plus once they saw my review they closed my account without any notice, it’s clear this company doesn’t give a shit about their clients. Then I contacted the sales department and they ask me if I wanted to register again with that company. WHAT A JOKE.
They are horrible. I signed up for a free trial. They charged my account hen they say they didn’t charge me. My bank statement don’t lie. I would not recommend them if they were the last company on earth.
Do not use this company it’s a joke and will cost you money
I recommend another service at this date 9/11/2018, I called at 9:16pm.I pressed the 3 button for sales to get a better understanding of the features and pricing that I read on the website. My goal is to get a service for my business to establish a toll- free number and additional features. Evoice was number 3 on list for consideration. So at 9:16pm on 9/11 ‘no doubt’ a representative answered… Her name was Sunny. But her personality wasn’t quite ‘sunny’. Very rude, nasty and just ugly. Mind you this is my first contact with company, terrible experience, lack-luster customer experience. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
They refuse to cancel the service. I will need to block them at my bank. I have tried the following:
– Attempted to find a close option on their web portal (failed)
– Requested closure via their web portal (failed)
– Requested closure via web chat (failed)
– Requested closure via their phone number. Their representative put me on hold for 10 min and then told me that my US number is not a US number.
The way they treat their customer is criminal. Arrogant, rude “customer service” agents act as though you are at fault for their terrible system. They highjack your 800 number and hold it for ransom! Shocking experience. What a waste of money and time. DO NOT USE THEM!
Horrible! They turned off my service and will not respond to my calls.Credit card is valid etc… A week now without a phone!!! Looking to sue, seriously! Companies should not be able to get away with this atrocious service.
DON’T I am new customer and I am totally horrified with the kind of technology offered and customer service.
It is totally lost that your new 1800 that you can’t change forwarding number because of staffing requirement. What they advertise on their website is not true. I am going to cancelled eVoice and report to ACCC for misleading advertisement.
Total MESS UP.
This is 100% true. This company charged my doubled for a whole year and then refuse to pay me the money they took from my bank account. Instead they offered me a credit. If anyone wants to sue please move forward. I can’t believe how many customers are having this issues. Check you bank account!!!
This is by far the worst Spam ever
the sales Rep cheated me and promised me 30 days free trial which I never received and I was shocked to see $101.73 monthly charge on my account
